A city is also a collection of small connections

A familiar face on a walk. A neighbour who knows which tool you need. Someone nearby who recognises a missing pet. These small connections can make a large city feel more personal. HeyNeibo starts with a simple idea: useful local conversations should be easier to find, and easier to turn into something helpful.

Built around everyday life nearby

We are developing a community space for neighbourhood conversations, local plans, useful exchanges and small acts of help. Imagine finding a few people for a coffee walk, passing along a chair you no longer need, or asking for a recommendation close to home. These are examples of the experiences we are building, rather than activities available on this website today.

Why Calgary comes first

Starting with one city lets us learn from local needs before expanding. Even within Calgary, different neighbourhoods have different rhythms. A community should grow at a pace that allows us to listen, test the experience and understand what people find useful. Interest from the waitlist will help us decide where to begin; it is not a promise that any particular neighbourhood will open first.

Thoughtful connections take work

A neighbourhood platform needs more than a list of features. People need clear expectations about privacy, who can participate and how to ask for help when something goes wrong. We are testing these parts of the product alongside the community features. We will explain the participation and verification requirements before people are asked to use the live community. A verification indicator must never be treated as a guarantee about a person, a service or a transaction.

An invitation to the beginning

For now, HeyNeibo is a public introduction and a Calgary launch waitlist. Joining requires an email address and your consent to receive a launch invitation. You may also tell us your neighbourhood. There is no password, home address or identity document to provide, and no resident account is created. There is no confirmed launch date. If the idea speaks to you, join the list or send us a question. Your questions can help us make the next explanation clearer.
